Special Track on “Service-Centric Networking for Innovative Cloud Services and Applications”
at the Eighth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing (IMIS-2014)
July 2nd – July 4th, 2014, Birmingham City University, Birmingham, UK

With the proliferation of wireless technologies, electronic (mobile) devices and Cloud services, there is a fast growing interest in Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing (UPC). UPC enables to create a human-oriented computing environment where computer chips are embedded in everyday objects and interact with physical world. Through UPC, people can get online even while moving around, thus having almost permanent access to their preferred services.

With a great potential to revolutionize our lives, UPC and Cloud Computing pose new challenges in the networking research community and information-centric or service-centric networking paradigms are becoming promising approaches. Within the scope of the IMIS International Conference, a special track on “Service-Centric Networking for Innovative Cloud Services and Applications” is offered. This track is technically supported by the FP7 project SmartenIT (www.smartenit.eu). For the submission of papers, please select the track 12 in EDAS:

Topics:

  • Use cases and applications for service-centric networks
  • Platforms, frameworks and architectures for service-centric networking
  • Approaches for realizing service and context awareness in Cloud traffic management
  • Information models and naming schemes for service-centric networking
  • Extending information-centric networking mechanisms with service-related semantics
  • Service-centric networking as an enabler for Cloud federations
  • Application-layer traffic optimization (ALTO)
  • Social-awareness in service-centric networking
  • Service-centric networking for energy aware and green IT
  • Approaches and technologies towards global service mobility
  • Performance evaluation of service-centric approaches with respect to QoS and QoE, energy efficiency, costs for stakeholders, etc.
  • Future challenges and trends for innovative cloud services and applications

Submission Guidelines:

Submit a full paper not more than eight pages (Proceedings Manuscripts: two columns, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 font size, and number each page. You can find instructions for authors to format the manuscript at this web page: http://www.computer.org/portal/site/cscps/. Prepare your paper in PDF file (Adobe format), and submit it electronically to the IMIS-2014 web page: http://voyager.ce.fit.ac.jp/conf/imis/2014/. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance. Proceedings of the IMIS-2014 will be published by Conference Publishing Service (CPS). Presented papers at IMIS-2014 will be considered for publication in several Special Issues in International Journals. For the submission of papers, please select the track 12 in EDAS: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=15991&track=42819 .
